NorCal FIRST Tech Challenge Qualifying Tournament Registration :: 2020 Ultimate Goal

Tournament registration will take place in 3 “waves”. Each wave is made up of three registration windows and covers the registration for a month’s worth of tournaments.

1st Play is reserved for teams that have not yet registered for a qualifying tournament. 2nd Play is reserved for teams that have only registered for a single tournament. 3rd Play is for teams that have already registered for two tournaments.

We are closing registration to teams that are from the areas outside of the NorCal FTC Region until further notice. “Out of Area” teams that may be interested in registering if it becomes available will need to contact NorCal FTC via email (at ftc@playingatlearning.org).

NorCal teams that have not yet registered for three tournaments may indicate their interest in attending additional tournaments by signing up for the WaitList by sending an email to ftcwait@playingatlearning.org. Teams may ask to be put on up to three specific event waitlists at a time.  When tournament space becomes available, it will be offered to WaitList teams in order. If a team in the WaitList declines an opportunity, they forfeit their waitlist spot and the option passes to the next team.

All teams should be aware that FTC policy limits teams to advancing (and winning judged awards) only at the first three qualifying tournaments they attend (see Game Manual Part 1, Section 6.1).

All registrations are done through a per-team link found on the “status” page on the “Team List” in the rightmost column. (or via emailed link for “Out of Area” teams)

Payment for registration is done through the link on the registration confirmation page. Please note that the fee for in -person qualifying tournament registration is based on a sliding scale; $150 for 1st play, $175 for 2nd play and $200 for 3rd play and beyond. Fees for Remote Events are $100 for 1st play, $125 for 2nd play and $150 for 3rd play.

November/December Qualifying Tournaments

  • 1st Play :: Thurs 10/22 @ 7pm
  • 2nd Play :: Thurs 11/05 @ 7pm
  • (no 3rd plays will be allowed for Nov/Dec events)

January Qualifying Tournaments

  • 1st Play :: Thurs 12/10 @ 7pm
  • 2nd Play :: Mon 12/14 @ 7pm
  • 3rd Play :: Thurs 12/17 @ 7pm

February Qualifying Tournaments

  • 1st Play :: Thurs 01/07 @ 7pm
  • 2nd Play :: Thurs 01/14 @ 7pm – Rescheduled
  • 3rd Play :: Thurs 01/21 @ 7pm – New date

March Qualifying Tournaments

  • 1st Play :: Thurs 02/04 @ 7pm
  • 2nd Play :: Thurs 02/11 @ 7pm
  • 3rd Play :: Mon 02/22 @ 7pm – New date

April Qualifying Tournaments – Just added!
